17-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED WITH WEAPON (12/19/2006) NEW HAVEN – A 17-year-old City man was arrested on 18 December 2006 after members of the newly-expanded Firearms Unit observed him near a vehicle in front of 15-17 Truman Street. A search warrant executed on 14 December 2006 at that location had netted two guns, ammunition and narcotics, and police had arrested Jerry Rollins, 22, and charged him with criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, criminal possession of a weapon, and altering the identification marks on a firearm. On Monday, police observed the juvenile, who was carrying a weapon, and Rollins, who was in a vehicle, and arrested the juvenile for drug and weapon offenses. He was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, altering the identification marks on a firearm and possession of a controlled substance. Police seized a Ruger 9 mm.P-85 and ammunition.
